New Semester, New Rubberized Playground Surfaces at El Morro Elementary School

.....

News release from Laguna Beach Unified School District:

students are enjoying a new, colorful rubberized playground surface at the Kindergarten and the main play area. The new playground surfaces were constructed and installed over the Winter Break, and the project was completed before students returned to school for the second semester. The new playground surface was a joint project with LBUSD and the El Morro Elementary School PTA.

The original woodchip material that provided a safe area underneath the playground equipment was replaced with a new, soft rubberized surface that would not be affected by the playground’s close proximity to the ocean. The El Morro Elementary School woodchip material was added to the playgrounds.

El Morro Elementary School Principal Chris Duddy remarks, “The new playground surfaces are a big hit with the students. Parents have also reported that their children came home excited to report to them about the new, soft rubberized playgrounds. I have heard nothing but positive feedback from staff, students and parents.”
