No Room at the Inn? Spend the Night With Rev. Schuller for $700

The Orange County preacher and his wife are leasing out their South Laguna home for a hefty rate.

Would Jesus crash here?

Famed Orange County tele-preacher Robert A. Schuller (whose white-haired same-named dad is even more famous, having built the Crystal Cathedral and all) and his wife, Donna, are offering up their plush Three Arch Bay home on Stonington Road in South Laguna for a cool $700 a night—or $5,000 a week—per couple, according to this listing on airbnb.com.

But you won't have the place all to yourself—sorry, party rockers, no keggers.

The catch is that it's part of a "spiritual retreat" the Schullers are offering. They'll be rooming in the four-bedroom, four-bathroom crib right there with you, offering "two hours of private counseling per day" as part of the package.

(Actually, they will let you have the keys to the place without the counseling, but those prices—for either three-, six- or nine-month stays—aren't listed, so you'll just have to "contact Donna and Robert for more information and booking," it says.)

Of course, browsing through the pics of the house is free, so we've posted a few in the box just above and right ...

Here's the listing info ...

Enjoy a private spiritual retreat with Rev. Dr. Robert A. Schuller and his wife, Donna. Until 2008 Robert was seen for 32 years on the internationally televised Hour Of Power church service. Robert is an ordained Christian minister and Donna is a certified nutrition coach.
Enjoy a 2-7 day retreat in their beautiful four bedroom, four bath 180' ocean view home located in a very unique, private gate-guarded beach community in Laguna Beach, California, USA.
Robert and Donna specialize in leadership training, marriage renewal, financial counseling, mentoring, friendship building, nutritional and exercise coaching.
Two hours of private counseling per day included. Ocean view private bedroom and bathroom for up to two couples: each couple enjoying their own private ocean view bed and bath. Delicious and healthy daily continental breakfast served.
Spend the rest of your days reading, journallng, praying, hiking, swimming, shell collecting and exploring one of the most beautiful beaches in the world!
When you are not retreating you can enjoy many world-class attractions and restaurants including art museums, gardens, amusement parks and more!!
$700 per night, per couple. $500 for a single.
Contact Donna and Robert for more information and booking.

Some interesting side notes: no smoking, no hot tub, no cable TV (?), no pool, and it's not handicapped-accessible. Just warning ...!

Old and younger Schuller are likewise two fraudsters pretending to be 'humble followers of the carpenter JESUS' whilst living high on the hog......their motto is 'In Money We Trust'...

The renting of rooms or houses like this has been going on for decades. This how some of my friends were able to live in places like Emerald Bay. They would rent their house out for the summer and go on vacation and visit family.
ms.sc. April 11, 2012 at 07:18 pm
I agree. And greene fur, please learn how to spell.
LakeForest Lifer April 12, 2012 at 02:54 am
Really?! Really???!!!
greene fur April 12, 2012 at 04:22 am
Soo, this not unusual, just the religious aspect the larger point.
Question ok, then, to see what other places available for Laguna bay(s) home(s) for other faiths/prophets. Should be at least 4 or 5 other faiths present in town. Interesting to know availability for similar promotions.

I'm disgusted that the Patch is allowing free advertising for the Schuller family to continue their dubious religious schemes. These people have ripped off the lower middle classes of Anaheim for decades through marketing religion to the masses and siphening off the profits so they can live in comfort themselves.

But I am sure that your friends did not receive that tax benefits that ministers receive for housing allowance.

WOW!!!!

Dear Mr Schuller Jr. had a great chance to help my daughter and blew it, I mean really blew it. He's nothing and surely doesn't live up to his "religious convictions" that he preaches. all he wants is more money to pay off previous wives and selfishly, for himself. I do Not like him.
T.Spayede April 12, 2012 at 06:21 pm
Who has these?
ms.sc. April 12, 2012 at 10:32 pm
I'd rather stay at the Ritz Carlton. At least you would know your money spent would go towards a worthy cause...paying wages for those who work.
T.Spayede April 13, 2012 at 12:06 am
Yep, too, Wondering where the info is on homes the other prophets would like??
B. Hillman April 13, 2012 at 01:58 pm
That takes the "spiritual cake"! What a holier than thou idea...
T.Spayede April 13, 2012 at 02:27 pm
Does it seem so, from the first line at the very top of article here...?
If yu do one prophet... maybe there's another profit motive that's elsewhere... curious

Ms.ms.sc, I thot I had indulged in faithful good spelling...pls tell me where I have strayed, perhaps mislead...gone astray...

T.Spayede April 23, 2012 at 01:25 am

For those rude Pro. Photographers that think they own the beach and demand you get out of their shotRead More you can call Jim Barris 464-6669 or the non emergency (911) (949) 497-0701. I called the city and found this out after a photographer kicked my dog for being in "his" shot.
