Breakers # 1 Doubles Chloe Mansour and Dominique Willette Shine
#1 Doubles team of Chloe Mansour and Dominique Willette win 5 of their 6 sets in the third week of competition against Division 1's Northwood and San Clemente.
Seniors and Co-Captains Mansour/Willette finish week 3 with a 8-1 record as a doubles team.
The Breakers were forced to compete against 2 of their 4 toughest competitors of the season without their # 1 singles player Brooke Michaels due to an ankle injury suffered in a match against Edison two weeks ago. Michaels hopes to return to the lineup within the next two weeks.
Against Northwood, #1 Doubles team Mansour/Willette stepped up against tough opponents sweeping all three sets 7-5, 6-4, 6-4. Other Breaker wins came from Singles players Kira Hamilton 7-5 and Bailey Jaeger 6-3 and Doubles team Katelyn Bo/Ashley Shelton 6-2.
All three Breakers lines won one of their three sets against Northwood for a final score of LBHS 6 – Norhtwood 12.
On Thursday, September 13th, the Breakers were challenged by San Clemente. Again #1 Doubles - Chloe Mansour and Dominique Willette play strong winning two of the three Breakers victories 7-6, 6-3. #2 Doubles - Kately Bo/Shawna Yang win the third victory of the match 6-1. Coach Don continues to try various combinations of doubles players to find the best chemistry for the team.
The final team score against San Clemente was LBHS 3 – San Clemente 15.
League starts on the road for the Breakers on Tuesday 9/18 against Saddleback, and Thursday 9/20 against Estancia at 3:00 pm.
