Breakers Fall to Northwood in Stunning Upset, 35-19

The Laguna Beach High Breakers' football squad dropped their second game of the young season Friday at Guyer Field, enduring a 35-19 drubbing at the hands of previously winless Northwood.

Northwood opened up a 14-0 lead at the half, then proceeded to run up the score in the third quarter with three touchdowns.

The fourth quarter belonged to the Breakers, but the squad's 12 points were too little, too late.

With the season now at its halfway mark, the Breakers will try to rebound from consecutive losses next week, Oct. 11, as conference play begins with an away game against Saddleback on the Segerstrom High field.

Mike Sciacca of the Coastline Pilot penned a preview of the Northwood game here.
