High School Football: We're Still Good With Numbers!

Here's a look back, by the numbers, at this weekend's prep football games for teams covered by Orange County Patch sites.

0 -- Losses this season for the Laguna Beach (3-0), Laguna Hills (3-0), Los Alamitos (4-0), Saddleback Valley Christian (3-0), San Clemente (4-0) and Santa Margarita (4-0) football teams.

2 -- Passes caught by Carson's superstar receiver Darreus Rogers (USC commit) for a total of 18 yards in Santa Margarita's 39-21 victory.

3 -- Points allowed by El Toro in its last three games combined. The Chargers beat Montebello Schurr, 48-0, Friday night and shut out El Modena, 41-0, on Sept. 9. In between, they beat up on Anaheim Canyon, 62-3.

5 -- Touchdowns scored by freshman Riley Babick (one passing, four rushing) in Capistrano Valley Christian's 60-34 loss to Hesperia Christian.

9 -- Yards Long Beach Poly's rushers were limited to in 18 carries (92 yards in passing) by Mission Viejo's quick defense in a 17-12 Diablos victory.

16-- Yards gained by Tesoro running back Nate Tago in first half of 22-13 victory over Narbonne. The junior rebounded to rush for 102 yards in the second half to help spark the Titans' comeback.

25 -- Yards gained by running back Mike Elespuru in one carry for a touchdown in overtime that would give San Clemente a 28-21 victory over Mater Dei at Santa Ana Stadium. He finished with 161 yards and two touchdowns in 24 carries.

36 -- As in "36 Power," the play that resulted in Titus' Hasson's 25th carry of the game -- a 41-yard dash through Corona del Mar's defense that put Newport Harbor in position for its game-winning touchdown and its fifth consecutive "Battle of the Bay" victory over its neighbor at Orange Coast College. Hasson rushed for 187 yards and two touchdowns.

42 -- Yards of Frankie Valdez's field goal that gave Los Amigos a brief lead over Irvine, a team that eventually ended the Lobos' season-opening winning streak at three games with a 23-9 victory on Thursday.

49 -- Points scored in first half by Los Alamitos in 56-0 victory over L.A. University on Thursday.

50 -- Longest of Logan Warren's two field goals in Dana Hills' 16-13 victory over San Marcos. His other one was only 48 yards.

67 -- Yards gained in one carry by Capistrano Valley running back Aurelio Fajardo, who finished with 95 yards rushing in Cougars' 35-17 setback to Long Beach Cabrillo.

74 -- Yards of Lucas Hoover's fumble recovery for a touchdown late in the game to seal Trabuco Hills' 31-14 victory over JSerra.

77 -- Yards gained in only two catches by Los Amigos junior Noe Perez during a 23-9 loss to Irvine.

85 -- Length of return for a touchdown by Randall Goforth of Long Beach Poly's third interception of Alex Bridgford during Mission Viejo's 17-12 victory.

95 -- Length of Sean Myer's kickoff return that helped spark Fountain Valley's 34-30 victory over Downey.

376 -- Yards of rushing for Curran John, breaking the school record he set only last week, in Saddleback Valley Christian's 60-39 victory over Brethren Christian.
