Laguna Beach Water Polo Player in World Games

Annika Dries competes for the U.S. on Friday and Sunday in Costa Mesa.

Attention water polo fans: The U.S. national men's and women's teams will be playing matches locally against Canada this weekend and next.

The men's team takes on their counterparts from across the border in two FINA World League games on Friday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at noon at Costa Mesa High.

The women's team will play Canada in two matches at Corona del Mar High, on May 20 t 6 p.m. and May 21 at 4 p.m.

Members of both U.S. teams with local roots: Tim Hutten (Seal Beach/Los Alamitos High), John Mann (Newport Beach/Corona del Mar), Adam Wright (Seal Beach/Long Beach Wilson High), Justin Johnson (Trabuco Canyon/Mission Viejo High), Annika Dries (Laguna Beach), Tumua Anae (Newport Beach/Corona del Mar High), Anne Belden (Newport Beach/Newport Harbor High).
