LBHS Captures Surf Win Over Aliso Niguel

The Laguna Beach High School Surf Team took it’s first overall Team Win Tuesday morning at Salt Creek with both, Girls Shortboard and Longboard helping LBHS to the 64-62 win.

It was a chilly, but sunny morning with wave conditions in the 3ft range. Marlee Grosher did double duty securing the win in Shortboard, while taking 3rd in Longboard.  Meanwhile Kirra Hamilton was a strong performer in Longboard taking 2nd, while Anika Pitz also took 2nd in Shortboard and Coco Putnam had a 4th. We also had several top Boys today with wins in Shortboard going to Shane Chapman, Cameron DePyffer, who also took 2nd in Longboard, Dylan Davis and Colton Bryant.

These guys with the wins all seemed to find at least one of those really special rides. Other note worthy performers today were Connor Brashier, who took a 2nd thanks to a good left at the start of the heat and another nice one on the horn to finish the heat well, along with Zach Levine who also looked impressive on several lefts to take a 2nd.

Top 3rd place finishers were Willy Hogan and Preston Rogers in Shortboard and Jack Dickerson in Bodyboard. Also doing double duty was Ryan Meisberger who took 4th in both the Shortboard and Bodyboard heats and Erik Siegrist took a 4th in Longboard as well as Michael Chapman also with a shortboard 4th.

Thank you once again to the parents, family and friends that were down there supporting the Laguna kids. The next event will be Wednesday at 61st street in Newport Beach against Newport Harbor. Below are Tuesday’s results as well as the lineup for Wednesday.
