Junior Cheerleaders Taking Over LBHS Field Friday

A special group of aspiring Laguna Beach High School cheerleaders will take center stage at this Friday's varsity football game to showcase a routine they learned from the pros.

More than 40 junior cheerleaders, ages 5-12, spent Sunday at a cheer clinic learning a cheer, chant and dance from Laguna Beach High School cheerleaders. The girls will perform their routine during Friday's LBHS Varsity football game halftime show.

The cheer clinic raised more than $2,000 for the LBHS cheer team which will go toward uniforms, equipment and competition costs, and also gave the junior cheerleaders an opportunity to perform alongside the school's varsity and junior varsity cheerleaders.

If you would like to find out how to support the LBHS cheer team, send an email to Yvette Perez, cheer coach, at yoerez@lbusd.org.
