Thursday Surf Report: You Can Find a Few Fun Ones

A little southerly energy in the water!

Good Thursday morning surfers, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Laguna Beach Patch surf report.  Well, it looks like we're seeing a little early season southerly energy out there.  Unfortunately there's not much to it, but you can find a few fun ones, with the small wave gear.

The conditions are really clean and glassy, with a mix of mostly minor south swell and just a hint of residual west-northwest energy in the water.  That recipe is delivering some fast and fairly weak sectiony lines, with a few workable ones.

Most Laguna Beach spots are running about ankle- to knee-high, with those top south facing breaks pulling thigh- to waist-high waves, with not much more than that.

Taking a look at those tides ... at 6:37 this morning it dropped to a 1.0 low, which is going to have many spots in need of some water early to mid-morning.  Your best bet comes once that tide fills in a bit, eventually climbing up to a 2.6 high at 12:40 this afternoon.

If you're going to get wet, then throw on that thicker fullsuit and possibly the booties, with the water temperature averaging between 56 and 57 degrees.  Good luck out there!!
