View Finder: City of Laguna Beach Hosts Youth Track Meet

Youngsters picked up the pace last Friday afternoon at Laguna Beach High School during the Laguna Beach Citywide Youth Track Meet.

Almost 50 young people came out in the nippy spring air on Friday, April 8 to participate in the City of Laguna Beach's Citywide Youth Track Meet. The meet was open to kids born in 1996 or later. The youngest racers in the crowd were 4 years old. Another requirement for the children was that they live within the Laguna Beach Unified School District boundaries.

Recreation Supervisors Kristin Buhagiar and Tom Toman were on hand to officiate at the meet. Buhagiar was a lifeguard for the City of Laguna Beach for nine years prior to becoming a Recreation Supervisor.

"This is our [hers and Toman's] first track meet for Laguna Beach," said Buhagiar. "This is a great turnout."
