WHY GO? Remember "Take Me Home, Country Roads," "Early Morning Rain," and "Keep on the Sunny Side?" Laguna Playhouse performers will play and sing your favorite hits made famous by folk superstars like Dylan, Seeger and Peter, Paul & Mary. You are encouraged to tap, clap and sing! AWARD CEREMONY AND SWIM-ALONG WITH OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST ANNIKA DRIES
WHERE/WHEN: Laguna Beach Community Pool at 670 Park Ave. Saturday, Sept. 1, 2-4 p.m.
WHY GO? Give your love and thanks to USA Women's Water Polo Olympic Gold Medalist Annika Dries. She will be presented with a City Council proclamation by Mayor Jane Egly. Annika attended Laguna Beach water polo classes when she was a young pup, and then played for Laguna Beach High School. Be sure to wear your bathing suit, as you can swim with Annika, too, after the formal ceremony. Musical entertainment will be provided by the Third Street Strutters. LABOR DAY PANCAKE BREAKFAST
WHERE/WHEN? Near intersection of Myrtle and Cliff Drives, . Monday, Sept. 2, 7:30-10 a.m.
WHY GO? For $5, you will get a delicious pancake breakfast with coffee served up by fine members of the . Plus, your $5 will go towards Laguna Beach Exchange Club local youth programs, including a child abuse prevention project. In addition, you can donate gifts or letters of encouragement and put them in a special box for at this time. The event is sponsored by The White House, The Orange Inn and Las Brisas.
