Laguna Beach Women Make Off With Olympic Medals

Athletes with Laguna Beach ties have made out pretty well in the London Olympics.

On Thursday, the U.S. women's water polo team—with Laguna Beach High alum Annika Dries—captured its first gold medal in water polo ever, defeating Spain by a score of 8-5.

Meanwhile, Laguna Beach resident Jennifer Kessy and playing partner April Ross earned a silver medal Wednesday in beach volleyball, losing to three-time gold medalists Misty May-Treanorand Kerri Walsh Jennings.
