Lawn Bowling Tourney Helps Out Local Animal Rescue Center

Money from Sunday's benefit tournament in Heisler Park will go to the Pet Rescue Center in Mission Viejo.

The nonprofit The Pet Rescue Center (The PRC) held its 1st ever Lawn Bowling Tournament at the in . This fundraising event featured tutorials and coaching by the clubs volunteer staff, three spirited elimination rounds, a competition for best hat, food and drink and a rousing raffle all to raise awareness and funds for The Rescue.Rehab.Rehome Program for The PRC. Thirty-two couples, from all over Orange County, competed in the tournament, which culminated with medals awarded to 3rd, 2nd and 1st place.

“We had such a great time at this event, it was a thrill to watch all the participants compete. Its always a pleasure to meet and have fun with people who mutually support The PRC’s programs and all that we do.” said Blythe Wheaton, Executive Director for The Pet Rescue Center. “Funds raised for The PRC at events like this allow The PRC to continue providing rescued dogs and cats with spay and neuter services, veterinary care, temporary sanctuary homeless for dogs and cats, educational programs and more.”
