Shakespearean Performers Entertain at Laguna Beach Sunset Serenade

The musicians and actors remind us we are "tied to the sea" as they perform next to the Pacific.

Only in Laguna Beach can people enjoy a breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean to the right, palm trees swaying in the warm breeze to the left, and a Shakespeare performance front and center.

About 200 people on Friday evening gathered in the amphitheater to listen to songs and soliloquies presented by local actors and Laguna Beach musician Jason Feddy's trio, Shakespeare’s Fool.

Presented by the city of Laguna Beach, this was the last free-of-charge Sunset Serenade of the 2012 season. The weekly series treated residents and visitors to performances by several different musical groups and actors.

Laguna Beach resident Deena Harros was on hand to take in the show.

“What a fun way to end the week,” said Harros. “It’s the last concert. I had seen [the performance] before and I didn’t want to miss it. I’m so glad the city put the amphitheatre out here because it’s such a perfect spot. Jason is really good, and you’re out in the park, it’s beautiful and you’re near the ocean. Who could ask for anything more?”
