Photos: No Brooks Street Classic? No Problem!

Crowds came out to watch the riders and the swells anyway, which reached 10 feet at times.

Although the Brooks Street Classic was cancelled Saturday due to inconsistent waves, surfers still showed up to enjoy the massive swells provided by tropical storm Ileana off the coast of Mexico.

Professional skimboarder/surfer/snowboarder/wave machine rider Bill Bryan said, "It's a little disappointing they're not having the event. But I guess it's just time to show up with our friends in a more relaxed atmosphere so it's all good either way."

Surfer Luke Diradoorian said, "It's really fun. The waves are great. I had an 8 or 9 foot left that took me all the way to Oak Street."
