PCH Roadwork, Veterans Day Closures, Animal Shelter Closure

Events taking place today and this week in Laguna Beach.

1. If you drive Pacific Coast Highway, be forewarned of emergency construction work near Crystal Cove State Park. The northbound traffic will be reduced to one lane between Laguna Beach and Newport Beach to remove obstructions created by a rockslide. Work should be completed by December.

2. Today is Veterans Day and most government offices will be closed, along with many colleges and some businesses. In Laguna Beach, all schools, libraries, banks, post offices and Laguna Beach City Hall will be closed in observance of the holiday.

3. Starting today the Laguna Beach Animal Shelter will be temporarily closed while the kennel floors are resurfaced. The public can contact Animal Shelter staff at the front counter of the Laguna Beach Police Department for questions and licenses. The closure will be in effect through Sunday, Nov. 17.

4. On Tuesday at 6 p.m., the city of Laguna Beach will host a workshop regarding the village entrance project at City Hall, 505 Forest Ave.

5. The Laguna Beach Planning Commission will meet on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Read the full agenda here.
