Santa's On His Way to Laguna Beach

The holiday season officially kicks-off tonight in Laguna Beach with the annual Hospitality Night event, complete with Santa Claus, music, food and more.

From 5 to 10 p.m., tons of holiday festivities will light up downtown Laguna Beach with musical entertainment at City Hall and the arrival of Santa Claus to light the Pepper Tree at 6 p.m. From there, the activities will move to lower Forest Avenue with entertainment and merchant open houses.

Sections of Forest Avenue, Beach Street, 3rd Street and the Pepper Tree Parking Lot will be closed to vehicular traffic prior to and during the event. Free public parking will be available at the city’s Forest/Laguna Canyon, Lumberyard and Community and Susi Q Center parking lots.

Motorists should expect heavy traffic this afternoon and this evening during commute hours, and drivers are encouraged to take alternate routes and carpool. Road closures in the downtown will begin at approximately 3 p.m.  Forest Avenue between Broadway and 3rd Street will be closed to vehicular traffic (with the exception of City and OCTA buses) between 5:45 p.m. and 6:15 p.m.

3:30pm- Street Closures begin (Forest Ave between Coast Hwy. & Third St. (including Beach and Second Street)
5:00 - 6:00 PM - Santa rides through town on Coast Highway upon the Historic Fire Truck followed by a Laguna Beach Trolley with Yuletide Carolers
5:00pm- Bell Choir and Community Sing-along at the Presbyterian Church (415 Forest Ave), La Playa Pre-school Tamales Booth, Craft Bazaar & Live Nativity
5:00pm- Laguna Beach Community Band at 326 Forest Ave. Parking Lot
5:30pm- Thurston Middle School Band Performance on City Hall Front Lawn
6:00pm- Santa Arrives at City Hall on Historic Fire Truck with Sparky the dog. - Santa & Mayor Light the Peppertree @ City Hall
6:10pm- Santa Arrives at his house in front of Tuvalu at 295 Forest escorted by his Elves and his golf sleigh
6:10pm -Anneliese’s School Choir Sings on Main Stage
6:30-9:00pm- Live Music Entertainment-Main Stage located on Forest Ave at Glenneyre St.
9:15pm - The Chamber of Commerce & South Coast Movie Theater is happy to offer FREE passes to the movie It's a Wonderful Life starring Jimmy Stewart.

Forest Avenue will reopen at 9 p.m.
