Do you have a better suggestion for making it more equitable?
OldTimer April 18, 2014 at 09:29 pm
Well, we can start by asking how some judge pulled a 12-year sentence out of the broom closet for aRead More crime where no one was killed or seriously maimed or injured. Not saying this guy isn't a jerk and doesn't deserve hard time. I've read many times about how some numbskull got behind the wheel of a car three sheets to the wind and hits somebody in a crosswalk or knocked a bicyclist 30 feet in the air and killed him and walks away with 4 years in the slammer. IMO he should get the 12 years before this clown. He killed a man! Sentencing should some rhyme or reason, don't you agree? If the judge doesn't like your hairstyle should he or she be able to tack on another 5 years? All I want is some reason employed for such serious considerations. This guy's only friend in life might be his mom, but that's no reason to toss him in the slammer and for all practical purposes destroy the key. I could fully understand if he wasted somebody. How much time do you think some slob gets for unloading his 15 round clip in the air on 4th of July? 12 years? Not even close. Probably 18 months and an early release.

...an alibi? How many people have been convicted after giving an alibi without anyone available toRead More witness or support their alibi? To many! As I get older I have come to realize rarely are things the way they are fed to us or as they appear on the surface. The other sad thing is the media will quickly ruin a guy's life but never after being found innocent go back and recant or disclose the facts for what they really are. Why is that? Because it sells more news to tear down than to report truth on a follow up.
