Laguna Canyon Road to Shut Down for 90 Minutes on Wednesday

The closure is needed to complete a comprehensive forensic mapping of the road by a team of traffic investigators and will assist them in their investigation of a recent fatality accident.

From a Laguna Beach Police Department press release: 

On Wednesday, May 7, Laguna Canyon Road will be closed in both directions between 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.  This closure will occur in the 2200 block and last for 90 minutes.  Officers expect to full reopen the roadway by 11:30 a.m.  

The closure is needed to complete a comprehensive forensic mapping of the road by a team of traffic investigators and will assist them in their investigation of a recent fatality accident.

For Northbound Commuters (leaving Laguna Beach) - Laguna Canyon Road will be closed at Canyon Acres.  Local traffic with proper identification will be allowed to proceed up to 2100 Laguna Canyon Road.  

For Southbound Commuters (coming into Laguna Beach) - Laguna Canyon Road will be closed at El Toro Road.  Once again, local traffic traveling to a location north of Big Bend will be allowed to proceed.

The Police Department will send out multiple traffic alert reminders beginning tomorrow through the end of the closure on Wednesday.
